Description

Snap rings, also commonly referred to as spiral rings or circlips, are versatile fasteners designed to fit inside a cylindrical bore or housing with grooves. These rings provide constant radial force by sitting tightly within a circular component, acting as a spring that pushes outwards against the bore walls. Similar to other types of circlips, snap rings are installed into grooves or recesses on the inner diameter of a bore or housing. Once in place, they exert outward pressure, securely retaining components and preventing them from moving or dislodging unintentionally. Snap rings often feature lugs or tabs with grip holes, which allow for quick and easy installation or removal using circlip pliers or similar tools. These lugs facilitate efficient handling during assembly or maintenance tasks, minimizing downtime and streamlining workflows.
