ASTM A403 WP321 establishes the standard for wrought austenitic stainless steel fittings designed for pressure piping applications. These fittings can be forged, shaped, or fabricated from forgings, bars, plates, or seamless/welded tubular products using various methods including hammering, pressing, fusion welding, and machining. Heat treatment is mandatory for all fittings. The material composition includes carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, chromium, molybdenum, and titanium. WP321 exhibits excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion within the temperature range of 800–1500°F (427–816°C) and oxidation up to 1500°F (816°C). It offers superior creep and stress rupture properties compared to alloys 304 and 304L, along with good low-temperature toughness.
